Biography

Canada was born on 26 July 1799 in , Laurens, South Carolina, USA. He was the son of Charles Henderson Sr. and Elizabeth Edith (Montgomery) Henderson.^[1]

When Canada was about 28 he married Polly Anna Mary Tillery in 1828 in Warm Spring, Bumcombe, North Carolina. The couple had 9 children: John Calhoun Henderson, Elizabeth Henderson, Charles Jasper Henderson, Beauford William Henderson, Sarah Sallie Henderson, George Washington Henderson, Isaac Tillery Henderson, Jane Elizabeth Henderson and Mary Henderson.^[2]

In 1850 Canada (age about 50) was living in Tennessee Valley, Macon, North Carolina.^[3] In 1860 Canada (age about 60) was living in Welches, Macon, North Carolina, United States.^[4]

In 1870 (age about 70) and 1880 (age about 80) Canada was living in Sugar Fork, Macon, North Carolina, United States.^[5][6]

Canada died at the age of 82 on 13 October 1881 in Gold Mine, Macon, Georgia, USA and was buried on 14 October 1881 in Henderson Family Cemetery, Highlands, Macon County, North Carolina, USA.^[7] He died intestate; his probate records name these heirs:
