Biography
Frank was born on 29 October 1861 in Fremantle, Western Australia.[1] He was the son of Charles Hanham and Caroline Martin.
He married Esther Hartley Atkinson in 1886 at Fremantle.[2]
- A sad accident occurred at Fremantle on Thursday week, by which Mr. Frank Hanham lost his life, It appears that on the morning in question Mr. Hanham, who has had considerable damage done to his garden and poultry by the depredations of cats, was attempting to shoot one of these feline dis-turbers of his premises. To effect his pur-pose he armed himself with a revolver and in order to obtain aim at close quarters, he was engaged in cautiously stalking the object of his pursuit. It seems that while creeping along in a recumbent position he had occasion to shift the revolver, bringing the barrel of the weapon into close proximity to himself While he was doing so, the revolver accident-ally went off and lodged a bullet in the unfortunate man's body just below the ribs. Drs. Hope and Ingoldby were called in with-out delay, but an examination soon proved that there was no hope of recovery, the bul-let having lodged in the intestines im-mediately below the heart. Death resulted about 6 o'clock on the evening of the same day. The deceased had only been married a few months and leaves a widow to mourn his loss.[3]
