Biography

Robert Graham,son of John Graham and Elizabeth Elliot^[1]; died in 1774; married June 24, 1763, Elizabeth Lockridge, daughter of James Lockridge and Isabella Kincaid. His will was dated August 19, 1773 and recorded March 16, 1774 in Will Book V, page 217, Augusta County, Virginia. It mentions wife; daughters, Sarah, Rebecca, and Jane Graham. (Early western Augusta pioneers, page 363).

"To wife, ELIZABETH LOCKRIDGE. This is JOHN GRAHAM, SR. son ROBERT. To three daughters, SARAH, REBECCA, and JANE, infants. Test. Lanty GRAHAM, James Gay, JEAN LOCKRIDGE, wife of Colonel Andrew Lockridge, and sister to ROBERT. Proved March 16, 1774 by GRAHAM and LOCKRIDGE. Elizabeth granted Exec. together with Andrew Lockridge and Andrew Kinkade. ROBERT GRAHAM'S estate appraised by Wm. Lockridge and James Bratton^[2]."

Notes

James Grimes Graham-2820 cannot be the son of John and Elizabeth as Elizabeth would have only been eight years old when he was born and did not marry Robert until 1763.

James Graham was born in 1745 in Franklin County, Virginia. He was the son of Robert Graham and Elizabeth Lockridge. On 12 Feb 1763 he married Sarah Farley in Botetourt County, Virginia.
