Married
10 Jan 1756
Nenthorn, Berwickshire, Scotland[2]
entry reads: "Nenthorn Janry ye 10th 1756 Archbald (sic) Fairbairn in this parish and Marion Dickson in the parish of Smalholme (having produced sufficient testimonials) gave up their names for proclamation in order to marriage & gave pawns"[3]
If the 1764 child Isabel is the Isabel (Fairbairn) Oliver (1767-abt.1839) marrying James Oliver, then this Archibald Fairbairn, married to Marion Dickson, is unlikely to be one and the same as the Archibald connecting the Fairbairn yDNA families of assumed children Archibald, William and assumed (from autosomal matches) sister Isabel.
There isn't any obvious room to fit child Archibald Fairbairn (abt.1760-aft.1800), in this Fairbairn/Dickson family as sibling of the 1764 Isabel given he himself was having a family from 1783, let alone a brother William Fairbairn (abt.1763-1809), even with all their only approximate birth dates.
