In 1841 William Begg was living in Houstry of Dunn, in the parish of Watten, Caithness, with his parents on the farm. Also recorded with him on the census return were his siblings Andrew, Peter, Catharine, Jean and Margaret. A William Sinclair (presumably a farm labourer) was also listed as living with the family.[1]
