If you're interested in WikiTree styles and formatting, and especially if you're working with pre-1700 profiles, I'd suggest doing some kind of of hands-on learning with a Trail or the Profile Improvement Project.

Hi Terrie! Your my 12th cousin!heart

By "puting in citations" do you mean:  <ref>bla bla bla Find A Gravebla bla bla</ref>

<ref>Insert citation here</ref>

WikiTree will do this for you automatically.

When you are on a profile page, and you click on Edit, right above where you type in information is a horizontal menu and at the end is a box with a C in it. Have your source ready on the clipboard, click on the  C, then paste the source where it says "insert source here".

Example: with ref in bold

<ref>Family Search database with images citing profile ID 2S4V-X15  of Mariah H Draper https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/2S4V-X15</ref>

Sent you a private message, I am not sure that's what I mean this isn't a citation just on the main post it's one I have to put under a child on his profile, would be better to get a visual by looking at fuller-457 profile to see what I did as it is saying cite 2 error. When I try and remove <ref/> it takes out all the children under it when not in Edit so I don't want to accidentally erase something I shouldnt.
Hi Terrie

The opening tag was wrong as well - I've edited it.

The first tag is <ref>

The closing tag is </ref>

Looks like ref code error (

Under the edit screen

1 Search Massachusetts Births (should take you to child David Fulller) (note 2 codes - begin/end)

2. Delete ref codes error and replace with correct ref codes

i.e. error - {{<ref/>"Massachusetts Births and Christenings, 1639-1915", database, FamilySearch }} https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FZD1-VG7{{: 16 March 2022), David Fuller, 1706 <ref/>}}

Should be: <ref>.............<ref/>

3  add marriage to whom if known

The closing tag was still wrong it's </ref> - the / was in the wrong place.
Thanks for correction
It's so easy to make a formatting error! :) I do it all the time!

It is important to learn how create citations.

But if you want a way to do it fast and reliably (for the supported sites) check out the WikiTree Sourcer browser extension. It can improve your productivity a lot.
