Changing a surname to unknown

The surname of my ancestor Rebecca Rebe should be unknown.
Somewhere along the line her surname was identified as Rebe, but I have never found any records for her under that name, nor anything else with that surname.  I have found a deed executed by her husband, Peter Drake, and her, and she signed with a mark, "R E B E."  I believe that was only her mark, the first 4 letters of her name, and NOT her surname.

Can I just change her surname to Unknown, and explain the reason for the change, or do I need to follow some procedure?

Thanks very much,

You are the profile manager so yes you can edit the LNAB. Adding your explanation, as you wrote it in this post, explains it well

Thank you.  I thought that should be the way, but wanted to be sure there wasn't something else I needed to do, that hadn't occurred to me.
I just noticed that there is a duplicate profile for her that has Unknown for LNAB so no need to create another profile by changing the last name, just merge the two.
