Lutheran baptism record 2 questions [closed]

This record, 2nd from the top, right hand page, has [sic] in the margin with (Wood) written above Holtz. Are they trying to say the name is Wood or Wood is an alias? I see that someone on family search has given him the name Michael Henry Wood and have attached the Keyser genealogy as a source. So I tracked that down and see that on this page, they have Elizabeth Keizer marrying Andrew Wood. I'm sure it's the same person, since they show son Michael, wrong birth month but correct day and year. The author is treating it as a Julian date even though it's after 1752. So, what should I make of all this?

Next question, does the G before Henrich Matthaeus Michael Eckert mean he is the Guardian or sponsor of the baptism?

ETA: I just looked up the meaning of the name Holtz and it derived from holz, a woods or forest.

1. You got it right, Holz/Holtz does mean Wood in German

2. The "G" stands for "Gevatter", which is German for godfather/godparent

Thank you. Are you saying they are noting he used the name Wood, not Holtz? How do I figure out if this is actually the same person? The book linked above says further down that Michael moved to Heidleburg, PA but this Michael ended up in Ohio. It looks like I have my work cut out for me.
Yes, so far from what I see on the profile for Holtz-468 there is nothing that would tie him definitely to a birth in Germantown, PA. He does seem to have come from Pennsylvania, as his sons apparently listed PA as their birthplace in the 1850 and subsequent censuses. Probably need to look at probate or land records to see where specifically your Michael Holtz moved from.
Will do. Thanks again.
