George Clark was born in 1871, his birth being registered at Stroud, Gloucestershire in the 1st quarter of that year[1]. He was the son of Stephen Clark and Ellen Slade.

George Clark migrated from England to New Zealand.

George emigrated from England to New Zealand with his parents and eight siblings, travelling on the ship Zealandia. They sailed from Gravesend on 10 July 1874, and arrived into Auckland on 15 October 1874, under Captain G Sellars, after a passage of 96 days[3][4]:

Clark: Stephen 36, Ellen 36, Stephen 10, Alfred 10, James 14, Emily 13, Eliza 12, Edwin 9, Arthur 5, George 3, Charles 1.

In 1891 he married Bertha Rebecca Peters (the daughter of John Peters and Sarah Ann Stevens). They went on to have at least six children.

In the 1938 New Zealand, Electoral Rolls (1853-2010), George Clark, who was a Plumber, was recorded living at 2 Harbutt Avenue, S.W.2, Auckland with his wife Bertha Rebecca Clark.

George Clark passed away on about 1 June 1943 and was buried at Waikaraka Cemetery, Ōnehunga, Auckland Council, Auckland, New Zealand[5][6]. PLOT: Area 2 Block R Lot No 85B
