Biography

Born in Kentucky, Lydia Jane Yoakum migrated to Mississippi with her family. She married Mark Dees, marrying in Tippah County, Mississippi, where they made their home.^[1] Their children included:

1. Isabella Dees (1825-)
2. Caroline Dees (1826-)
3. Polly Dees (1830-)
4. Nancy Dees (1833-)
5. Mark Dees (1839-)
6. Elizabeth Dees (1840-)
7. Missouri Dees (1845-)

In 1860, they were enumerated in the Southern Subdivision of Tippah County.^[2] In 1870, that area was enumerated at Township 4 in Range 5.^[3]
