Frank Neville Wynne was born on 2nd February 1901 in Sydney's eastern suburbs, New South Wales, Australia. He was the fourth son of George Wynne and Alice Papprill. [1]
Frank married Kathleen ... They made their home in Willoughby, in Sydney's northern suburbs. [2]
On 21st March 1942, with the Japanese Empire threatening Australia's north, Frank enlisted in the Australian Army's Volunteer Defence Corps. He was allocated to the 8th Battalion, based at Willoughby. He was discharged about six months later, [3] so that he could be commissioned in the Royal Australian Air Force. His final posting, with the rank of Flight Lieutenant, was to Eastern Area Headquarters, before resigning his commission on 11th April 1947. [4]
Aged 58 years, he passed away in 1959 in Sydney's northern suburbs. [5]
