Beryl was born in 1920 to Sumner Wyatt and Esther Harper.[1] His father worked as a janitor in an office building.[2]. Beryl attended Independence High School , attended Independence Junior College, and was a student at Kansas City University when he enlisted in 1942.
Albert was married to Lulu Henderson, and had a daughter when he completed his training in the Tuskegee Air Pilot Program in August of 1943. His mother and aunt proudly attended the ceremony. [3]. In December he was deployed to Italy where he was stationed with the 100th Fighter Squadron, 322nd Fighter Group in Ramitelli.
On April 15, the 332nd Fighter Group moved from Montecorvino, Italy, to Capodichino near Naples. On April 18, Beryl's P-39 Airacobra took heavy enemy fire while on a bombing mission. When he tried to land the plane, he crashed just short of the runway. Lulu received a wire telling her that he had been hospitalized with injuries. Three days later, she received a second wire, informing her of his death from those injuries.[4]
He is buried Sicily-Rome American Cemetery.[5]
