Biography

Fern (Wortman) Thomas is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.

Fern was born in 1932 in Missouri, the daughter of Rolland Wortman and Rachel Alderson.

The 1940 Census^[1] shows her at age 7 in the home of her parents in Prairie Township, Montgomery County, Missouri.

Fern and Martha Ann (Dillion) McRorie who was born in the same month, were close friends in addition to being second cousins, and attended school together all the way up through High School in Wellsville, Missouri.^[2]

Fern married Lindell Leon Thomas on 20 Oct 1950 in Vandalia, Missouri. They had two sons and a daughter.

She passed away in 2005 and is buried at the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri.^{[3] [4]}
