John Wood was an early Quaker settler in at the Easton monthly meeting in New York.[1] He was born say 1744 (estimate based on marriage date), likely in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.[1] he was the son of John and Hannah Wood of Dartmouth.[2]
He married Dinah Hussey, daughter of Jonathan and Hephzibah Hussey of Dartmouth, on 20d 12m 1769.[2]
On 22d 3mo 1776, John was received on certificate at the Nine Partners monthly meeting from the Coakset monthly meeting, along with his children Hannah and Jethro.[3]
John was noted as a member of the Easton monthly meeting, residing at Whitecrick circa 1778.[1] Also noted are his wife Dinah and children Hannah and Jethro.[1]
On 20d 10m 1779 [20 Oct 1779], John witnessed the marriage of Phillip Allen and Rebecca Wood at the Easton monthly meeting.[4]
