Biography

Chris Wine has Appalachian roots.

{{Member|Appalachia|team=North Central Appalachia Team} Hello everyone my name is Chris aka Christina but I prefer. I am not sure how I started with that name it was either I am tired of being called that baby name "Chrissy" or trying to avoid misspelling the word "Chistina" when writing it out in cursive.

Despite the struggles I had in school I wanted to go to college to become a teacher to help students like me to be successful in school. That is when I fell in love with "preschoolers’ I got my Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood from Malone University and then completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Degree from Walsh University. Both my student teaching experiences where a success were a the kids and they loved me because I liked playing and making the kids laugh. I taught preschool for over ten years till my back started giving and out and I could no longer jump, skip, run, and play like I used to and knew it was time to give up my beloved career.

I then went in Vocation Rehabilitation as a Vocation Evaluator / Job Coach. In this job I worked with the disabled and tested them to see what types of jobs they could do. I also did some job coaching where I took the disabled person to a job site. This was another fun job because people can be interesting. For instance, I had one girl who just graduated from high school. She got to the Math portion of the test. She looked at me and spoke

"Math?" "Yes, Is something wrong?" Is something wrong" I asked. She looked at me."It been too long since I done math." I looked at her. "Well how long has it been? "Three months" she said to me. I reassued her and told her we would keep that in mind.

I would like to have told her wait 20 years then you would have something to complain about.

Well. back in 2000 I finally found out what was wrong I had Neurofibromatosis type 1 a genetic disorder that I inherited from my grandfather from my mom side of the family. These tumors can develop anywhere in the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and nerves. My sister, mother, two of my aunts, and a cousin of mine have been diagnosed so far.

I also enjoyed explaining taxes to kids when they got their first pay checks especially when they told me they never used roads, the police, fire fighters etc. Their faces would drop.

My other hobbies include animals, fostering kittens, photography (nature and pets), gardening (gourds, flowers, a Vegetables), Legos, crafts, the County Fair, going to church when I can, and of course the County Fair. Internet Activities have included games like Pirates. I have done DJ'ing a small internet Radio Station some Web Designing, Pogo, Puzzle Pirates, and playing Civilization.

I first became interested in Genealogy when I was in Highschool in order to hopefully get a scholarship to college. With a little bit of help from the librarian she showed me where the books were and introduced to staff and said Good Luck. They should me the Microfiche machines and introduce to the LDC Films and I wrote down wrote down what I could. The book in the library consisted of mostly Ohio books, and I was needed West Virginia Books. My dad did take some interest but it seemed like no one wanted to help us out. In college things started opening up a bit more the library got more West Virginia book and then I was able to order books from the I intestate Library Loan. The first time I went to the Charleston West Virginia Cultural Center was a blast all the West Virginia books to my heart’s desire. Things have much have much improved since those days.

For the past twelve year or maybe longer I have been care taking for both of my parents but mostly for my mom for the past ten. When my mom died in August of 2022. It took a lot out of me both physically and mentally. I promised my mom I would be okay, and I will. I just got to have the faith. There are people out there that are a lot worse than I am and I am not going to let it get me down.

Thank you for what you wrote in your bio. You are very brave and thank you for the good things you did for children and animals. I respect you much more than any king, president and any ruler in the world.

Im not sure I can write these things here.

Im going to do something like a church service in my appartment today. It has been some time time ago I did this. Only my dog has attended these so far. I don t understand what kind of Christian I am, and I don t understand parts of the scriptures so well. But what I do understand is: The most important thing is the love of God.

You and your dog are the focus of our prayers.

Right now you and your dog receive the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hi Chris, just looking at the record you have uploaded for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lee-15097 It appears to be for a child buried in Norwich, England but is attached to a profile born in Virginia and with connections in Wiltshire, England and Maryland. This does not seem to be quite right! Cheers, Elizabeth co-leader England Project.
Hi Chris,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi Chris, I noticed you marked 26 profiles for the USBH Connecting Challenge in April. This is a challenge to create USA profiles for Black heritage. When you use the challenge tracker, please make sure to double check which challenge you are marking so you can get credit for the challenge you are participating in. Thanks, Emma~~USBH
Hi Chris,

I noticed that you used the Challenge Tracker to track a change during a recent Saturday Sourcing Sprint. Please consider officially joining us for the Saturday Sourcing Sprints. You can find information on the rules and how to join on the Sprints Help page. Let me know if you have any questions.

No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better, but only registered sprinters can compete for the winner's badge. Your work will continue to be included in Tracking Sheet's Unregistered total at the bottom of the help page if you do not register.

Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!
