Laura Ann Wilder was born on June 15, 1844 in Burke, Franklin County, New York, United States. Her parents were James Wilder and Angeline Day.

She married Harrison Lamanzo Howard on December 31, 1874. She had 5 children and one stepson:

3. Angeline
4. Josephine
5. Carrie (died young)
6. Kearney Howard (stepson)

She died on April 16, 1899 in Crowley, Acadia Parish, Louisiana, United States.

Family Connection

Laura Ann Wilder Howard was the sister of Almanzo Wilder.

Laura was never mentioned in the Little House' 'books as to not confuse the readers with the author, Laura Ingalls Wilder.

One of the houses she lived in with her parents and siblings is a museum.^[1]
