Biography
I am the daughter of Ronald A Wiblemo, Sr and his wife.Beverly (Smith) Wiblemo; born in Blue Earth, Minnesota and raised in Wagner, South Dakota. I am the oldest of Ron and Bev's ten children. In 1969, I married Greg Schneringer. We have four children and 14 grandchildren.
I was an Army wife for 20 years. Greg flew helicopters, doing tours in Ft Riley, KS; Viet Nam; Germany; Ft Rucker, AL; Ft Campbell, KY; DLI, Monterey, CA; Panama; and back to Ft Campbell. He is a plankholder (original member) of the Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Greg retired from the Army in 1990 and we moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he flew another 18 years for Sioux Valley Hospital (now Sanford Health).
I went back to college in my late 20s and graduated from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Information Systems. I've worked for Department of Defense Schools at Ft Campbell, U.S. Navy at Naval Station Panama Canal, and was adjunct faculty at Austin Peay in the Math and Computer Science Department. I worked for Citibank Credit Cards from 1990 until I retired in 2009. My job with Citi involved travel to New York and Long Island City, Ft Lauderdale and Jacksonville, Houston, Colorado Springs, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Chile and Colombia.
Geneaology
My ancestors are from England, Ireland, Scotland, Norway and Germany. I became interested in geneaology in the mid-1990s after reading some Smith Family Newsletters written by Mom's cousin Wally Smith, in which he traced our Smith line back to John and Grace (Hawley) Smith, of Milford, CT. John and Grace inspired me, and soon I became acquainted with a host of additional pre-1700 Connecticut and Massachusetts immigrant ancestors from both sides of my family tree.
