I have many times and lead me back to the same people . Way before I started on wiki tree . And before starting on ancestry . Was always courious about my grandparents and where they are buried or what happened to them . I believe they are all related and my findings are accurate from what I read thur many articles. But whatever . Very disappointed

Hi Keith,

Please take a look at all of the sources that I have attached to the profiles of Mary Morton and William Whitten and the details that I have provided in their biographies. You can trace their relationship as a couple from the time that they married (when Mary was 18 years old) till the time that they separated, and she married her second husband George Linfield (whose surname should be updated to the proper spelling of "Linfield"). This is the family group that I am currently working on. I do not know much about William Augustus Whitten because I have not spent any time researching him. He may have had 3 wives for all I know! But, what I do know about William Augustus Whitten is that he was not married to Mary Morton. That is why I detached her from him and created a profile for the correct person that she married. I also detached George Linfield from Mary Randall because he was never married to her. George Linfield only had two wives. His first wife was a woman named, Alice Strang; and his second wife was Mary Morton. I apologize for not reaching out to you first. I certainly would have if I thought you were invested in the profiles that I corrected, but the lack of details in their biographies and absence of any sources led me to suspect otherwise. I saw an opportunity to help improve a couple of profiles and went for it. It seems the detachment of wives from William Augustus Whitten is what is most upsetting to you. If you would like, I could take a look at William Augustus Whitten and try to help you figure out who those other two wives were because I am absolutely certain that Mary Morton was not one of them. Likewise, Mary Randall was not George Linfield's wife.

No they are not connected in the fashion that you had them connected...if you look at the census and marriage records and newspaper articles and compare locations they absolutely are not connected the way that you had them connected. You have William August Whitten married to 3 different woman. I'm sorry you're disappointed, but I'm trying to be helpful. I would be happy to continue sourcing and discuss this with you further. But, you are perpetuating misinformation and have not even added sources to your work. These are my ancestors also and I would like to see accurate information on the profiles. I found the information I corrected very easy to verify and if you look at the sources I provided, you will be able to figure it out too. Please take a moment take to look at the sources I attached and allow me to supply more. There are a lot more sources to confirm the relationship that I fixed.

Hi Keith. I notice you added Levi Whitten of South Carolina as a son of Richard and Mercy. Can you see my comment on the profile and respond there? Thanks!

Hi Keith,

I see you are the 'keeper' of the page for Ray Whitten, Jr.

Ray Whitten Jr. and my Mother were 1st cousins on Ray's mother's (Georgiana Corrigan) side.

I believe Ray was also your Dad's 1st cousin (on their Dad's side, obviously).

I have at least two photos from around 1959-1961 with Ray and his wife in them. I also have a photo from the early to mid-1930's, I believe he might be in that one as well but if I'm correct about him being in it, he moved at the last second and is unfortunately slightly blurred in the photo.  :-(

If this is of any interest to you, please reply.

I might be able to post them for you. I just joined this site, not sure how to navigate it yet.

Robin, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. You appear to have several interests. Why don't you stop by the Project List (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects to see how you can participate? Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!

Hi!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

Free Space pages are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom .... They're "anything pages".

Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out our Biography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!
