Biography

• His middle name of Barrett is the first name of his grandfather.
• He served as 1st Lieut. in Capt. Jacob Elliston's Co. of Col. Richard Johnson's regiment of Ky. Mtd. Infantry, after enlisting from Franklin Co., Kentucky on May 20, 1813.
• The 1830 Census lists the following people in the household: 1 male under 5, one male btw 10-15, one male over 40, 2 females under 5, 1 female btw 5-10, 2 females btw. 10-15, and 1 female btw 30-40. One daughter died in the 1833 Cholera epidemic.
• He listed on tax records for Anderson Co. in 1829-30, and he also is involved in transactions listed in the Anderson Co. deed books through Summer 1835. He also gave permission for the marriage of his daughter, Margaret, in 1835.
