Elizabeth "Lizzie" McPherson Weeks Greenleaf was born to the prominent Weeks family of Elizabeth City, NC. Elizabeth was born October 12, 1890 in Pasquotank, NC to John Francis Weeks and Gabriella Raper Weeks.
In 1900, the family lived on Cherry Street in Elizabeth City.[1].
She attended college while still living at home.[2]
In 1920, Elizabeth and Louis rented a home at 306 Church Street in Elizabeth City with their two daughters, Elizabeth and Katharine.[4] Louis worked for a lumber mill and Elizabeth was a homemaker.
1930 found them renting a home at 516 Main Street in Elizabeth City.[5]
Elizabeth died of a heart attack July 13, 1959.[6]
In her will, Elizabeth bequeathed all of her possession to her husband Louis and made him executor of her estate.[7]

Mrs. Elizabeth W. Greenleaf
ELIZABETH CITY -- Mrs. Elizabeth Weeks Greenleaf, 68, died Monday. She was a native of Pasquotank County and resided in Elizabeth City for the past 65 years. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and DAR. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Russell Rumpf of Peconic Long Island, N.Y. and Mrs. LeRoy Spencer of San Bernardino, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Emmett Riddick of Gatesville; one brother, P.R. Weeks of Rt. 3, Elizabeth City; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Heath Light, rector, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.[8]
