Birth estimated about 1846, based on the following:
1) 1845 MS, per census in 1850, age 5
2) 1846 MS, per census in 1860, age 14
3) George's older sister Sarah has confirmed birth of 26 Feb 1845
Place of Birth: Pontotoc Co. MS, based on the following:
1) Father, Elam Ware, is documented in Pontotoc Co. MS between 1845-1860
2) George's own census confirms birth in Mississippi
Death: 13 Jul 1864, Tupelo, Lee, Mississippi, USA
1) died 13 Jul 1864, Battle of Harrisburg, per Civil War muster cards
2) on/about 16 Jul 1864, Harrisburg Mississippi, per signed statement by father.
Note: Historical records show the Battle was fought July 13 thru 15, 1864.
The Battle of Tupelo, also known as the Battle of Harrisburg, was a Union victory over Confederate forces in northern Mississippi.

State of Mississippi, Pontotoc County to wit
On this 4 day of August 1864 personally appeared before me the subscriber an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the county aforesaid Elam Ware who makes oath that he is the father of George M Ware decd who was a private of Capt Wm Youngs Col I 1st Regiment of Mississippi Partisan Rangers commanded by Lieut Col S M Hyams Jr in the service of the confederate States in the present ware with the United States and that the said George M Ware entered the service at Bethel church in Pontotoc County state of Mississippi on or about the 16th day of Febrary 1863 and was killed on or about the 16 day of July 1864. Leaving neither wife or child. That he makes this deposition for the purpose of obtaining from the confederate States what ever was due the said George M ware at the time of his death for pay county or other allowances for his service as private aforesaid

And on the same day and year aforesaid also appeared before me a Justice of the Peace as as aforesaid B M Ellzey who is well known to me and whom I certify to be a person of veracity and credibility who being duly sworn said the he is well acquainted with Elam Ware the applicant and well knew for six years George M Ware the deceased soldier above named and that the statements made on oath by Elam Ware as to his relationship to the said George M Ware is true and correct to the best of the knowledge and belief and that he the said B M Ellzey is wholly disinterested
