Biography

The biography for David Abernethy: I was born in Kansas, lived in California, Nebraska and Texas, then joined the United States Air Force at age 17, served and retired at age 33 as a Captain.

I taught military arts and sciences at the United States Air Force Academy, commanded a 110 person cadet squadron, cadet squadron 1 (Mach One), which was my first dream job, then taught orbital mechanics at the Space Warfare Center, which included teaching general officers about our classified space platforms, was recommended for promotion to Major two years early, but chose a new challenge in being an information technology consultant, and ended my work career at age 57, as a chief information officer, my second dream job.

I am retired and living in Portugal with my second wife Margie.

I have two children from my first marriage.

Other notables is I taught combat martial arts for most of my military career, combining several arts I earned black belts in, and other arts I practiced with grand masters, golden sashes, black belts, etc, to teach military cadets how to survive, evade, resist and escape if captured by an enemy. I combined anything and everything to my fellow military combatants, such as Jujitsu, Judo, Ninjitsu, Arnis, Kuk Sool Won, Tae Kwon Do, Wing Chun, etc.

I now practice Tai Chi in Portugal, a much gentler art.
