Biography

William Cameron Ward was born on May 9, 1923, in Anniston, Alabama,^[1] to William Oliver Ward and Willie Belle Ann McBurnett.^[2]

At the 1930 census, William ("Billie") was six years old and living in Anniston with his parents and grandfather William O. Ward.^[3]

At the 1940 census, William was staying at the Hotel Sharon in New York City.^[4]

William enlisted in the army on February 19, 1943, in Fort McClennan, Alabama.^[5]

William married Margaret Malene Beason on December 8, 1943, in Anniston, Alabama.^[2]

At the 1950 census, William and Malene were living at 1218 North 52nd Street in Birmingham with their daughter.^[6]

William died on August 24, 2013,^[7] and was buried in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama.^[8]
