DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Evelyn:
A newspaper clipping from "Brooklyn Daily Eagle" shows what appears to be this Evelyn Waldo's 1944 marriage announcement including her soon to be husband Lewis O. (Orville? ) Umland and her father Lewis T. Waldo of Bellrose, New York. https://www.newspapers.com/clip/15899277/the-brooklyn-daily-eagle/
The coding "bdif gecc" can be used to trace the family line and personal sketches back to Colonial era immigrants Cornelius Waldo and Hannah Coggswell by using the Waldo Lincoln's two volume set links provided on his wikiprofile at: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lincoln-3228.
Note: Waldo Lincoln has made clear that in colonial times the family had members named "Talitha" who are often mis-noted as "Tabitha" . This would apply to one of Evelyn's distant gg...grandmothers (Talitha Kingsbury) and is accounted for on Wikitree, but not on Geni where her lineage is sketched out.
Thank you for rather extended letter. I find it startling, accurate, informative, and wonderful. My time as a former "hippie" entitles you also to a wide eyed "WOW"! The only matter with which I am not familiar is your noting a mention about Zacheus II ( the second of three in my line) on Wikitree, which I will look up. Thank you for that in particular. BTW would we be perhaps distantly related? I believe the "b" in the "bdifg gecc" you mention married Rebecca the daughter of Captain Samuel (Henry) Adams around 1676 probably in Charlestown Mass per "The Genealogy of the Waldo Family" which I have. So it's a possibility at least. My kindest regards and thank you once again.
Lewis T. (Thomas) Waldo of Belrose, New York, is noted in Charles S. Waldo's "Continuation of the Waldo Genealogy" on page 209 as person "bdif gecc" which designates Waldo lineage for seven more generations back in time in the Waldo Genealogy research. Family Search has a free searchable version of book: https://www.familysearch.org/library/books/records/item/161384-continuation-of-waldo-genealogy-1900-1943?viewer=1&offset=0#page=229&viewer=picture&o=search&n=0&q=lewis%20T%20waldo

Evelyn's closest Waldo profile on wikitree is probably Zacheus Waldo b. 1756: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Waldo-193

p.s. Looks like we are sixth cousins via Edward Waldo, person "bd".
