Biography

Jean Jacques Waguespack, son of Jean Pierre Waguespack and Maria Catharina Hoffman, was christened at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on 23 Nov 1749. [1]
He married Marguerite Legaut 17 Nov 1778 in St Jean Ch., Edgard, St. Jean Baptiste, Louisiana [2]
Children:
In a St. John the Baptist Civil entry dated 22 July 1793, the following children were identified as minor children who inherited from the estate of their father Jacques Wagenspack. [3]
  1. Margueritte Wagenspack, 1786, wife of Laurend Baÿrres
  2. Ambroize Wagenspack, 1779
  3. Pierre Wagenspack, 1783

Land Sale: 26 June 1788 and 5 June 1790, No. 8 [French, 3]
Text: Declaration by Jacques WAGUENSPACK before Maurice O'Conor that he sold to George Shof 3x40 arpents on the right bank of the river ascending around 15 leagues from New Orleans, bounded below by Pierre Chennette and above by Louis Lavigne, for 500 piastres. Witnessed by Jacques and Jorge Deslondes [s/ George Deslonde[. Declaration date 5 June 1790 by Waguenspack that he received full payment from Shof. Witnessed by Noel Perret and George Deslonde.
Jacques died after 5 June 1790 when he made a declaration in St. John the Baptist Parish Courthouse that he sold land and before 11 Feb 1793 in St. John the Baptist, Louisiana, the date his spouse was referred to as the Widow Jacob Wagenspak. [6]

Pierre Coussot sells a farm to George Chauffe (Schaf) 3 arpents wide by the customary depth, bounded above by the property of Christian Philipson Christian Philip Zahn) and below by the property of Widow Jacob Wagenspak Waguespack) for the sum of 800 piastres. Witness Jacques de LaGroue and Jacques Lamothe.
    Receipt, Jan. 11, 1796, Jean Berry, resident of St. James, declares in the presence of Jean Duhart and Firmain Songy, that he has received for the account of Pierre Coussot, his father-in-law, from George Chof (Schaf) full payment for the above sale.
