Biography

James was born June 2, 1921 in Carnegie, Allegheny county, Pennsylvania, USA. He was the son of Harold Wagner and Kathryn Ramsey.[1]

He married Anna Lillian Iversen on August 10, 1944 in Pensacola, Escambia county, Florida.[2]

James was a US Naval pilot who was killed November 3, 1945 at the age of 24 when his aircraft crashed into East Mountain, an 1,800 foot tall hill in the village of Wingdale, Dover, Dutchess county, New York and he was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Titusville, Crawford county, Pennsylvania. He was survived by his wife and his 6 month old daughter Priscilla Ann Wagner.[3]

Some online trees have Ensign James Wagner dying on the same date in a plane crash in Bosnia but that is NOT true.
