Biography

Lubbert was born the Netherlands in 1834.^[1]

In 1855 at age 21 he emigrated with with his parents and many of his siblings, arriving in New York on the ship Alexander.^[2]

By 1870 he was living and farming in Thornton with his wife and first 3 children.^[3]

By 1880 he was widowed, still farming and living with his 5 children and a domestic servant in Thornton IL.^[4]

His two daughters never married, and lived with him until his death.^[5][6][7]

Two of his sons died in their early 20's. Of all his children, only John married and had chiuldren of his own.

He passed away in 1920^[8] and is buried in Illinois.^[9]
