Unknown de Venables,[1][2] possible lord of the Cheshire barony of Kinderton.
This profile represents the son of Gilbert de Venables, earliest known lord of the Cheshire barony of Kinderton, who is noted in the Domesday Survey. His name is unknown; but his existence is required to continue the line of the Venables of Kinderton.[3][4]
His son was Gilbert de Venables, second known lord of the Cheshire barony of Kinderton.
Research Notes
According to both Ormerod's History of Cheshire and the 1580 Visitation of Cheshire, the name of the son of Gilbert Venables, 1st Baron of Kinderton, (ie the person represented by this profile) is unknown.[3][5] There are numerous trees on the internet that claim his first name was "Gilbert", but they provide no source for the assertion and it is likely that they have confused this person with either his father or son, who were both named Gilbert. Or they may have just assumed he was called Gilbert, that being the name of his father and son. Donnelly-2171 22:48, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
This profile previously showed that he died in 1160 at Kinderton, Cheshire, England. No reliable source has been found to support this date, so it has been removed. Donnelly-2171 22:56, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
He was probably born sometime between 1060 and 1090, based on the likely lifespan of his father. He may have been born in either Cheshire or Normandy as his father would have owned property in both. Donnelly-2171 23:43, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Venables-184 and Venables-19 appear to represent the same person because: Both these profiles are intended to represent the son of Gilbert Venables-23, whose name is unknown. See the bio and research notes on Venables-19. Please merge, thanks.
This is a total mess with no verifications, how can a profile manager ( Theresa ) be refused pre 1500 certification when she is an originator and are the other two managers pre 1500 certified? Please sort out the mess and restore credibility.
I would love to sort it out, I always intended to return to the profile but in the meantime Wikitree changed the rules, rather put me off continuing, I intend to retry to get a pre 1500 certificate when I am sure everything post 1500 is correct.
Someone needs to clean up the Venable family mess on wiki. Wives and children are attached to the wrong Gilberts. For instance, Amabilia had a brother, William, who gave her a dowery of land, upon her marriage in 1176, that had previously been given to her mother, Margaret (Margery) <wiki: Hatton-77> daughter of Walther Fitz-Wolfric <wiki: Hatton-7>. https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=yale.39002088543229&view=1up&seq=425, p378-379. Her listed father has no spouse, but she has a mother!
Lot's of Gilbert's :) If this is the correct Gilbert, the father of Amabilia, his father's name was unknown. Three sources: The History of the County Palatine of Chester, pg. 566 by J. H. HANSHALL. Lee of Virginia, 1642-1892: Biographical and Genealogical Sketches of the Descendants of Colonel Richard Lee, pg. 18 by Edmund Jennings Lee. British Roots of Maryland Families II, pgs. 2321-232 by Robert W. Barnes. He would also be the same as Venables-26
Answering Diane, Margery is the spouse of Gilbert (born 1150), not this one. Gilbert (1150 is his grand son.
But Petronilla can NOT be this Gilbert's wife, since she died before he was born. And she can not be the mother of these children. She should be disconnected.
Wish I could help but pre 1500 and refused getting one . So cannot correct errors, not even on my own direct family I am now shut out of 50% of my mothers family.
