Silas Veatch was a Maryland colonist.

Silas was born in 1731 in Prince Georges, Maryland to John Veatch and Grace Masters. He passed away in 1806 in Montgomery, Maryland.

The 1760 census of Maryland reported Silas Veatch in All Saints Parish, Frederick County, Maryland.[1]

The 1776 census of Maryland reported that Silas Veatch 45 and family lived with his mother Grace Veatch in Frederick, Maryland.[2]

The 1800 census of District 2, Montgomery, Maryland reported Silas Veatch, age 45+ (indexed Ueatch), 1 White female 45+ and 4 enslaved people.[3]

Silas Veatch of Montgomery, Maryland wrote a will, dated 30 Oct 1800 and proved 11 Jun 1806. He named son Orlando Veatch, beloved wife Elizabeth Veatch, and daughters Keziah and Susannah: Keziah to receive "the Negro woman Bess with all her increase, except two Negro boys by the name of Ben and Nace, and them two boys I give to my daughter Susannah......And whereas all my children that I have herein willed my Estate to now reside [out] of the State of Maryland, some living in Kentucky and some on the Northwest Side of the Ohio” therefore my friend, Hezekiah Veatch is appointed to contact them after my and my wife’s decease and to protect the estate until they can come and receive the same agreeable to this my last Will and Testament."[4]
