Bioraphy

Thomas was born and baptised^[1] in 1721 at Wykeham, North Yorkshire. He was the son of Thomas Vasey and Anne Beswick. Thomas was married to Jane Scott in 1743^[2][3] at Alne, Yorkshire but by then they had already had a son Thomas born in 1642 at Allerston, Yorkshire. This probably explains why they married so far from home, since they then had two more children at Allerston. It seems they moved to Tollerton, Yorkshire at some point, probably before the children were grown up as their son Thomas also lived there. Thomas senior died in 1796 at Tollerton and was buried at Alne^[4], leaving a will which could not be readliy accessed. Since his son and several grandsons were Joiners, we might speculate that this Thomas was also a Joiner, but there is nothing else to support this contention. As he left a will we might also wonder if he was a Yeoman, but again there is nothing else to back up this idea.
