Biography

Maurice was born in 1883. He is the son of Suzanne Valadon.^[1]

He became a noted painter, specializing in cityscapes. By 1910 his works were attracting critical attention and he was known internationally by 1920. In 1928, the French government awarded him the Cross of the Légion d'honneur.

He married another artist, Lucie Valore on April 18, 1935 in the 16th arr., Paris, France.^[2]

He passed away in 1955. He is buried in Cimetière Saint-Vincent in Montmartre. ^[3]
