Alice (Unknown) Maris was born in Worcestershire, England.
Alice was a Friend (Quaker)
Alice (Unknown) Maris migrated from England to Pennsylvania.
Alice was born in the 1630s (based on the ages of her children) in Worcestershire, England (based on the birthplace of her husband and known place of emigration). My tradition her maiden name may have been Wellsmith or Wilsmith.
She married George Maris, in about 1659[1], based on the birth of her first child in 1660.
Together with her husband and with their five children, she migrated to Pennsylvania in 1683[2].
They lived in Chester County, Pennsylvania[3][4]. The entire family were active Quakers[5].
Alice died on 11 Mar 1699, in Springfield, Chester, Pennsylvania.[6]. Shew was buried in the Chester Friends' Cemetery[7].

I plan to clean up the biography which is a mess. I will remove the dead links first and see what remains. I plan to discuss any major changes in the Research Notes and here in Comments
Also there is a current DNA project for this family line that I found while looking for additional sourced on her husband's father and grandparents...in fact,, there are two ongoing studies looking for any male volunteers for both a Maris of Cambridgeshire and a Maris of Worcestershire project. I will connect the links in just a bit.- Becky
I added five sources/ publications under sources and removed the labeled "junk" from suggestions that simply directed the user to the Ancestry.com homepage. Also replaced the actual LDS profile with the longer homepage citation and added "Wilsmith" to other Last Names since it is presented in the research added as well as the established written bio (and both parents) Thanks! Becky
The preceding page from The Genealogist states that George & Alice's marriage was believed to be in 1659 rather than 1668 as stated in our profile of George. Their first known child, Alice, was born in 1660 which supports the earlier date.
Also, the International Marriage Records, 1560 - 1900 gives the marriage date of 1659.
This profile is also a match with Wilsmith-2. I don't know if this name was more commonly Wellsmith or Wilsmith at the time. If Wellsmith, merge into Wellsmith-6. If Wilsmith, merge into Wilsmith-2 instead.
