Disputed Parentage. The surname of Elizabeth, wife of Joseph Large, is nowhere recorded. It may be seen as Simcock (and variations of that spelling) and that she is the daughter of John Simcock and Elizabeth Budd but this is entirely undocumented and Elizabeth daughter of John Simcock is well-documented as married to another person. The Simcock ancestry for the wife of Joseph Large should not be reintroduced absent primary source documentation and discussion with the Quakers Project.
Her maiden name has been seen as Simcoche / Simcock / Simcocke. She married Joseph in 1672-1673 in Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts. They were Quakers.
They are parents to 14 children. She died in Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Biography
It may be seen that she was born in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania in 1651. Wyoming County was not formed until 1842 and was formed from parts of multiple predecessor counties. Additionally, this area was not settled in 1651 being the site of a remote fortification and frequent skirmishes among Native Americans. That the wife of Joseph was born in this part of Pennsylvania at this time is highly improbable and it would not have had the place name of Wyoming County.
Elizabeth ____________ married Joseph Large by 1676 at Amesbury, Massachusetts.[2] The family still resides in Amesbury, Massachusetts in 1680 according to census substitute records[3][4] and in 1686 by the birth record of son Samuel.
It may be read that Joseph and his wife Elizabeth relocated to Bucks County from Long Island in 1690 settling near Falls township.[5] However, there does not appear to be documentation of them living on Long Island.
Joseph passed away 26 July 1709 at Bucks, Pennsylvania.[6]
Elizabeth's date of death is uncertain but she survived Joseph as she was the executrix of his estate.[7]
Children
Note: until citations are available for all children, this list is presumed to not be in date order since Samuel is noted as 6th son in the Amesbury vital records.
John Large - John Large is signatory as witness to the marriage of Richard Large and Hester Homer.[12] John's death is recorded 1729. A John Large marries Sarah Corker 7 Sep 1709[13] which indicates he cannot be the same person as Jonathan born in 1699.
Research Notes
It may be read the family moved from Massachusetts, to Long Island, to New Jersey to Pennsylvania. This requires documentation. One source places the marriage on Long Island in 1673 while births of children are recorded in Amesbury thru at least 1686.
Comments regarding the family living in New Jersey appear to originate with the Lundy family genealogy where W.C. Armstrong recounts information on Samuel Large who moved from Burlington County, New Jersey and appears to be the son of an Ebenezer Large. Armstrong does not draw a connection between Joseph and Samuel Large.[14]
There was a John Simcock and his wife Elizabeth who arrived on August 14,1682 on the ship Friendship. Elizabeth's maiden name may have been Budd. Their sons John and Jacob also came on the same ship. They settled east of Ridley Creek in Ridley Township in PA. There is no proof that Elizabeth Simcoche/Simcock married Joseph Large (and it should be noted that Joseph married his wife in Massachusetts, not Pennsylvania). Joseph's wife remains a puzzle. This information came from Ruth Alexander but she did not list her source. There were Simcock's that were members of the Hardwick MM but that is hardly proof that Elizabeth was a Simcock. This is included here as a possible clue for further research.

Simcock-222 and Unknown-508400 appear to represent the same person because: The maiden name of the wife of Joseph Large is nowhere recorded. Simcock is undocumented and in this instance comes from an Ancestry tree which WikiTree does not use as a source in pre-1700 profiles. Simcock-222 should be merged into Unknown-508400 with the LNAB as Unknown. All known documentation of the wife of Joseph Large appears on Unknown-508400 profile. Thanks.
Paxson-171 and Simcock-90 appear to represent the same person because: Joseph Large married at Amesbury, Massachusetts by 1673 an Elizabeth ___________. Nowhere do I find record of her maiden name. Torrey cites the marriage as 'by 1676' (which ignores the documented birth of son Joseph in 1673). Torrey cites Salisbury Fam. 231; Dixon Anc. 18 and gives no maiden name.
In WT presently, we see two wives. An Elizabeth Paxson said to be born Wyoming, Pennsylvania in 1651. Wyoming County was created in 1842 (originally parts of several older counties created and dissolved multiple times over many years) and I believe this area was still embroiled in native wars in 1651.
The other wife attached to Joseph is an Elizabeth Simcock also said to be born Wyoming County in 1651. That her surname is Simcock appears many places and it can be read this is given in Quaker meeting records but a citation is never given (and I have been unable to find such a record).
It appears the two wives should be merged because Elizabeth Simcock is reputed to have had 14 children with her husband.
What is the documentation for her maiden name? Place of birth as Pennsylvania is unlikely since Elizabeth married Joseph 1676 or earlier in Massachusetts (see citations on Joseph's profile).
What is the primary source documentation for her maiden name? I have found it nowhere recorded. It is unlikely she was born in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania since the marriage was 1676 or earlier in Amesbury, Massachusetts.
Yes Simcock is correct there are find a grave resources and quaker meeting records to verify, added it but don't know how to remove the UNKNOWN as maiden name
