Biography

Jane Tunstall was born in 1759 or 1760 in Rochdale, Lancashire. She married first Steven Thompson and was widowed. In 1792 she married Everard Home, with whom she had six children.

SIR JOHN CROFT, BART.

Sir John Croft, Bart., of Cowling Hall, in the county of York, and Doddington, in Kent, Baron da Serra da Estrella in Portugal, K.T.S., D.C.L., F.R.S., and a Deputy Lieutenant and magistrate for Kent, who died on the 5th inst., at his townhouse, 3 Queen Anne-street, Cavendish-square, was the son of John Croft, Esq., by his wife, Henrietta Maria, daughter and coheir with her sisters, Lady Home and Lady Walpole, of the Rev. Dr. J. Tunstall, and was born in 1778.
