John died of general arteriosclerosis and cardiac decompensation at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 11 days in Shamokin Hospital. Informant was Bruce Treon.[1]
Research Notes
Ages for John are all over the place, generally underestimating his true age by about 4 – 5 years. As he appears with his parents and siblings in the 1870 census, he could not have been born in 1873/4 as most other census records have his age.

John Treon's Find a Grave Memorial 180429557 NOTE: this is as yet uncertain, as the memorial does not have death place or date, nor is it linked to a particular cemetery. John's death certificate gives his burial place as the Oddfellows' Cemetery in Shamokin, and his son John is buried there.
