Biography

William was born on 30 May 1774 in Reading, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony.^[1] He was the son of William Thompson Jr. and Dorcas (Eaton) Thompson.^[1]

He married twice. His first wife was Betsey Eaton.^[2] He married Anna Putnam on 8 Jul 1798.^[3]

Anna and William were married by Baptist Minister Reverend Aaron Leland (1761-1832),(https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Leland-779 : accessed 28 March 2022).^[4][5]

He died on 24 Dec 1818.^[6][7] He was buried inSmokeshire Cemetery.^[7]

His epitaph: O'er the cold sod where thy pale relics sleep, Shall fond remembrance oft repair to weep.^[8]
