Hi Steve,

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now, I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions?

Hi Steve

Thank you for signing the Honor Code.

I see that you have had your DNA tested, congratulations! Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches which relate to the particular branches you are researching.

Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!

Hi Steve!

Since you uploaded a GEDCOM, I wanted to give you the link to a tutorial that one of our mentors created that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

P.S. - I see that you have had your DNA tested, congratulations! Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

Thank You for becoming a Family Member of WikiTree!

Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together. I'm a volunteer greeter, here to help answer questions you may have about WikiTree.

I would suggest starting with New Member How-to pages which may save you a lot of time and frustration. Don't be afraid to ask questions in our G2G forum and get involved as much or as little as works for you. Be sure to check out the tabs at the very top right hand side of your profile, there is lots to discover!

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person.

Enjoy the site!
