Violet was an Editor.

Violet was born in 1905. She is the daughter of Albert Taylor and Mary Deane.

Violet attended Denison University, Granville, Ohio USA, in 1926 following in the footsteps of her sisters, Blanche and Elsie. She was in the class of 1926 but so far, the yearbook that her college published in 1926 has not been found. Therefore, it is not known whether she graduated. The biographical sketch that appeared on p. 99 of the 1925 Adytum yearbook is as follows.

"Violet Taylor, Sigma Delta Phi Croton-on-Hudson, N. Y. We wondered if Violet could stop long enough to have her picture taken. She's so busy. The first year she was a representative on the S. G. Council, and since then has spent most of her time pounding a typewriter. She helps edit the Denisonian, while the Flamingo uses her classical pen, as she is one of the founders of the Poetry Club."

Violet was an associate editor of the Denisonian and a part of the contributing staff of the Flamingo, which are publications of Denison University.

Violet married Prof. Peter B. Schroeder (b. 1902 Iowa, USA - d. 2 Sep. 1991 Windham, Windham, Connecticut, USA) prior to 1 April 1940. Prof. Peter was a history professor at the University of Connecticut at Storrs. Violet was a teacher who retired prior to about 1956. Then, she became active with the University library.

There is some evidence that she also married a man named "Budge" but this is unsupported with detailed sources.

In 1930 - 1 April 1940 and perhaps after that, Peter and Violet Schroeder resided in Chesapeake, Elizabeth City, Virginia, USA. On 1 April 1940, Peter and Violet were 37 and 35 years old, respectively. This puts their wedding date sometime in or prior to 1930.

Dr. Peter B. Schroeder was a university professor with 5+ years of college education. He resided in at 295 Mulberry in Mansfield, Tolland, Connecticut. He passed away on 2 Sep 1991 at the age of 88 in Windham, Windham, Connecticut according to Connecticut State File no. 20792.

No evidence has been found so far to indicate that Peter and Violet had any children.

Violet passed away in Hartford, Connecticut, United States of America. Her remains are buried in Storrs, Tolland County, Connecticut, United States of America

  • Personal letter, dated "April Fool," meaning 1 April 1987, from Eric's Uncle, Joseph Hoyt Taylor, to his cousin, Lucille Dawson Ceruti. Topics ranged from a list of his family members, whom they married, and where they lived, to a short statement regarding Joe's uncertainty about the location of the medal. He wrote, "My youngest sister Violet Janet is the wife of Dr. Peter Schroeder, a retired Professor at the University of Connecticut, living at 295 Mulberry Road RR2, Mansfield, Center, Ct. 06250."
  • Joseph Hoyt Taylor's Siblings' Addresses and Occupation Status Untitled Document, written after 1956, probably by Joseph Hoyt Taylor' himself, whose name is the only sibling missing who was alive in 1956. The document could not have been written after 1964 when Elsie Deane Taylor Finne retired from teaching. From the format of the phone numbers in the document, most likely the document was written in the mid to late 1950s.
