John C. Taylor Jr. was a notable person due to his distinguished career in politics and public service. He was born in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. Taylor served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1969 to 1981 and from 1983 to 1985, and in the Illinois Senate from 1981 to 1983.

John C. Taylor was born on February 8, 1930 in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. He was the son of Joe S. Taylor and Lourine Danner. In 1930, he lived in Jasper, Crittenden County, Arkansas. In 1940, he lived in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.

Taylor attended college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Monticello College (now Lewis and Clark Community College). He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

After his military service, Taylor worked in the Chicago Department of Sanitation and was a supervisor for the Stevenson Expressway. He also served in the Illinois Senate from 1981 to 1983. Additionally, he served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1969 to 1981 and from 1983 to 1985.

Taylor passed away on March 18, 1999 at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, Cook County, Illinois due to a heart attack. He left behind a legacy of public service and dedication to his community.
