Martin was born in 1837 in Ohio.

He married Nancy Gould in 1849. [1]

Martin served with the 173rd Regiment [2] [3] of the Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. Martin passed away in 1865, leaving Nancy a widowed mother of 10 living children. [4] [5] [6]

I have been researching his parents but it is slightly confusing.

So far have his parents as John Swick and possibly Susan Thomas.

But then I am not sure if John Swick's fahter was Martin Swick or Tunis Swick.
