Biography
Esther (Suskin) Waters has Jewish Roots.
Esther was born in 1917 in New Bern, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Mark Suskin and Jennie (Kramer) Suskin.[1]
In 1937, Esther is listed as a saleswoman and as residing at 418 Rhems Ave. (now 1617 Rhem Ave.) in New Bern.[2] She also worked as a receptionist in a medical facility.
She married Marion Hunter Waters on 25 Mar 1939 in Durham, North Carolina.[3][4] In 1939, she is listed as residing (with Marion H. Waters) at 200 E Edenton, apt. 9, in Raleigh.[5] They had two daughters, Patricia A. and Jennifer Marian.[6]
In 1955-56, 1958-59, 1960-61, and 1962-63, Esther is listed as residing (with Marion H. Waters) at 1605 S. Williams Circle in Elizabeth City.[7][8][9][10] In the early 1960s, Esther, Marion, and their younger daughter lived with Esther's brother Raymond in New Bern for about a year and then moved back to Elizabeth City.
Esther passed away on 30 Jan 1984 and was buried on 1 Feb 1984 at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Elizabeth City.[11][12][13]
