Biography

Gebhard was the son of Bernhard, Graf im Nordthüringengau and Ida von Querfurt.[1] Nothing is known about date and place of his birth - 1050 is simply an estimate. He married Hedwig von Formbach who is identified as mater Lotharii regis in several sources.[2][3] He died 9 Jun 1075 in the Battle of Homburg an der Unstrut fighting against Emperor Heinrich IV.[4][5]
