Nigar Sultana was born in India
Born in Hyderabad in south India,
She was the youngest daughter of a family of five. She has two brothers and two sisters. She spent her childhood in Hyderabad where her father held the rank of a Major in the Nizam’s State Army.
Nigar Sultana had previously been married to the actor S.M. Yousuf. That marriage had been childless and had ended in divorce when Yousuf moved to Pakistan some years after the partition of India. Asif and Nigar Sultana became the parents of a daughter, the small-time actress Heena Kausar.[1]
