John Stuart Jnr. was born on 29 March 1751 in Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He is the 2nd son of John Stuart Snr. and his wife Elizabeth Lawson.
He was baptised on 29 Mar 1751 in the parish of Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland.
The family estate was Inchbreck House near Glenbervie, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He was educated at Glenbervie then Arbuthnott school. His older brother, Dr David Stuart, initially inherited the Inchbreck estate following their fathers death in 1795.
He was professor of Greek in the Marischal College and University of Aberdeen.
He died at his Aberdeen residence, 82 Broad Street on 27 August 1827.
John Stuart Jnr. was married to Margaret Mowat (daughter of George Mowat, an Aberdeen merchant) about 1786 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
