Biography

Elijah born 11 Aug 1733 was the son of Jedediah Strong and Elizabeth (Webster) Strong. He passed away about 1775.^[1]

He married 18 March 1756, Ruth Loomis, daughter of Zechariah Loomis of Lebanon, Connecticut.^[1]

He was a farmer at Lebanon, Connecticut and at Hartford, Vermont from about 1764 until 1775. He was one of the first settlers and was elected the first town clerk, 8 March 1768, when the town was first organized. His farm was 360 acres, which he purchased for £4 10s (7 cents per acre) in 1762.^[1]
