Biography

Ruth, child of John Loomis and Joanna (Abel) Loomis, was born in Lebanon, Connecticut, 14 June 1729.[1]

Ruth was baptized 22 June 1729 in Lebanon, Connecticut.[2]

Ruth married 18 March 1756, at the First Congregational Church, where she was baptized, Elijah Strong,[2][3] son of Lt. Jedediah Strong and Elizabeth (Webster). He was of Lebanon, Connecticut and Hartford, Vermont (1764-75)[3]

Ruth and Elijah, went to Hartford, Vermont, in 1764 as part of the original settlers. He died there in 1775. During the next year, many meetings were held at the home of Widow Ruth Clark, the last one being 13 July 1776.[4]
