Biography

Hattie L. Stilwell was born in April 1867 in Hector, Schuyler County, New York. ^[1] She was the daughter of Lewis and Mary (Case) Stilwell. ^[2]

Hattie married George W. Ink in November 1884. ^[3] They resided in Tompkins County, in Enfield, Newfield and then in the Ithaca area. They had two children, Fred H. and Charles F. Ink.

George died in 1939. In 1940, Hattie was a widow, living in Ithaca, New York.^[4] She also appeared in the Ithaca Street directories in 1941 and 1942. ^[5]

Hattie died January 25, 1943. She is buried in Hayts Cemetery, Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York. ^[6]

Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie L. Ink, who died at her home on Spencer Rd. Monday evening, Jan. 25, 1943, were held at the home at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Luman T. Cockerill, pastor of the State Street Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in Hayts Cemetery. Bearers were Merrit Thorpe, Frank Haskins, Elmer Inman, John Pickering, James Oliver and Eldred Hoyt. – The Ithaca Journal, Monday, February 1, 1943.
