Biography
Margaret was possibly the third and youngest daughter of Walter Stewart, 3rd high steward of Scotland, and Bethóc, a daughter of Gille Críst.[1][2]
She married Neil Carrick, 2nd earl of Carrick, although the exact date of this marriage is not certain.[1][2] There were four daughters from this marriage, although only the name of Marjorie Carrick, the eldest daughter and heiress who married Robert the Bruce, is known.[2]
Research Notes
- Roland de Carrick was originally attached as a son of Margaret and Neil, but has been removed as that relationship is unproven. It is more probable that Roland was a son of Neil Carrick's brother John.[3] Stevens-17832 23:09, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
