James (Stewart) Stewart of Beith is a member of Clan Stewart.

James Stewart was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.
  • Sir James Stewart of Beith was born before 1513. He was the son of Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avandale and Margaret Kennedy.
  • He was Commendator of St. Colme's Inch. He held the office of Captain and Constable of Doune Castle in 1528. He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King James V. He held the office of Steward of Menteith before 1538.
  • He lived at Beith, Ayreshire, Scotland. (Not to be confused with Beath, Fife, Scotland).
  • He died on 2 June 1544 at Dunblane, Scotland, killed.

  • He married Margaret Lindsay, daughter of John Lindsay, 3rd Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Marion Baillie, before 4 June 1533. [1]
