Biography

Adam Steuart is a member of Clan Stewart.

Adam Steuart was born about 1512. He was the son of Allan Steuart and Elizabeth Tait.^[1]

Adam Steuart seems to have been a man of some consequence, for in 1536 he entered England, then a journey of sufficient hardship to require a safe conduct, on a mission whose nature is not recorded.

He married to Marion, daughter of James Lockhart of Lee.^[1] They had issue:

1. James Steuart. b. 1537. - d. 1607.^[1]
2. Allan Steuart. (In Garbat Hill).

Adam died in 1574,^[1]
